Exploring AI

LI: To identify and understand how descriptive language is used to create a clear picture of a setting in a text.

This is the image I created using the Adobe Express. I found this activity challenging because we have to use the words to make the image fit the descpritiocn we used in the prompt but I found it fun because we could customize the image in our words.

Something i learnt when using prompts for AI is that you can make anything in AI by using the prompt.

Moment time – High Beam

LI: To write a poem that describes a moment in time

This challenge was based on the camp we went to. This week we made a moment in time peom about the high beam. for this task we used the website word hippo to search up basic words and find other words the are more technical. We described what we felt , saw , wondered , and heard.

We chose this challenge because we wanted show how we felt wondered saw heard when we those activitys.

The kokako

LI: To use our smart searching skills 

Our Year 7/8 camp was at Kokako Lodge in Hunua. Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to find out about the kokako bird and create an infographic to share the facts we researched in our own words.

Something i found intresting about the koako it is a endangered speices.

Who was Samuel Mardsen?

LI: To use our smart searching skills to find out who Samuel Marsden was and what he is known for.

For this task we used 3 diffrent Websites to research Sameul Marsden. Samuel Marsden was an english born priest of the Church of england. His role was to bring christiany to newzeland. he made 7 visits to newzewland and his last one was in 1837. On 12th may 1838 samuel marsden passed away at the age of 72.

Something i learned about sameul marsden is that he brought the first sermon to newzealnd.

What Samuel Mardsen saw.

LI: To use the information in the diary extract to create an image of what we think Samuel Marsden saw when he sailed down the Tamaki awa.

For this task we used adobe express. We used a picture of the front of tamaki awa and made the image look like it was 1820s when Samuel Marsden first sailed down to New Zealand on Tamaki awa in 1820. We thought of diffrent ideas of what Samuel Mardsen could have seen, when he came to new zealand . We also installed these ideas in a prompt so when we would Submit the prompt it would genarate a image with the words we used. I learnt that if the AI comes out work I have to describe it better in the prompt.

 

 

NZ Flags

LI: To understand the story behind our flag

Our challenge today was to create a collaborative presentation that reflects the story behind our NZ flag. We did this by looking at how our flag has changed over time.

Something that i found intresting was the flag united tribes of nz was officially made by henry williams to be used in the treaty back in 1834

Kauri Dieback

LI: To understand what Kauri Dieback is and how it spreads.

Our challenge today was to use the links provided and our own smart searching skills to find out what Kauri dieback is and what we need to do to try and prevent this from spreading. We need to know about this so that we do our part to keep our Kauri safe when we go on hike at camp. 

Something intresting i found was that kauri Dieback is a diease that infects trees.

Expectations

At the start of 2025 we leraned about class expectations. we worked in a group sharing ideas being condifdent and collbrating as a team. We collbrated by all talking and having goes on wririting diffrent ideas on the paper.

Ko whai ho

Talofa my name is AJ i am a year 8 student who attends Panmure Bridge School. A subject I like to do at school is reading. Something I enjoy doing out of school is playing with my friends form school by going online because it is very enjoyable and its my a easy way of spending time with my best friends. A goal i want to accomplish for 2025 is to achieve a lot of rewards.

Fish and Chips (step it up)

This summer learning journeys task is about fish and chips and also creating a logo.

This was about creating and design a fish and chips menu on a google drawings. Inculding diffrent types of fish or topings. if you wanted to you could add more then fish and chips and possibly add what some of the items cost. creating a logo to go for our fish and chips and menu. My logo was based a kiwi holding fish and chips.
