Comic Strip: Once a Panther

LI: To identify the key historical context and events related to the Polynesian Panthers and the Dawn Raids as depicted in the graphic novel.

This is a comic strip that me and my group and it revoles around the 1970s. the comic strip is suppsoed to show and tell the story of the acstisvt group called the polyneasin panthers and how they came to be. The Polyneasin panthers are the people who protested the goverment and the prime minster Muldoon who was the man who caused the policce force to break into pafiska ciztens houses in midnight and show acts of voilence if a pifiska person did not a had a visa or a right for being there.

Something I found interesting about this challenge was the creativy we used to tell the story of Once a panther.

Dinosaur Egg AI

LI:  To understand how scientists discover, record and learn from fossils.

Our challenge was to put our dinosaur egg in a hidden place. With the image we got we used adobe express and created a prompt to make our image look like it was really look like it was a real dinosaur egg.

I enjoyed this task because me and my partner got discover and break open our dinosaur egg and what type the dinosaur was.

Paired Research Challenge

LI: to research questions about your dinosaur including their habitat, diet, predators, and protection.

For this challenge we where tasked to create a DLO about the dinosaur we discovered broke open our dinosaur eggs. My partner and I found the skeleton which was a triceratops.

An interesting fact is about the triceraptos is that the word triceratops atucally means “three horned face” and there horns changed as they grew overtime. Something I found interesting was the task of excavating our eggs.

Provocation

(Dawn Raid Podcast)

This is a Provoaction DLO that I and my group have created.

Our DLO revolves around “Dawn Raids and the Polynesian Panthers” which was a important event that happened 1977 that invovled the government and Pafiska people. Polynesian Panthers where a group that group who rebbeled aganist people like the Goverment and the Police force. They hated the way how the Goverment treated them by breaking into there homes and demanding paper work or visas to prove a persons right for being in newzealand. If they would not have the right to be here then they would be sent back to there own Conutry.  The Polynesain Panther would ussally Protest aganist the Police and Goverment fighting for there rights for being allowed in New Zealand. For the DLO we responded a to a question which was “Should the Goverment of today (2021) have apologized for the dawns raids of yesterday (1970s).

We all answered with a yes because is was an unfair and foolish descion that the government had made because now it would be a shameful stain and the worst look on there own contury. But in 2021 Jacdina Arden apologisied to the pasfika and the way how the government had treated them before.

Mary Anning

LI: To create a DLO that tells Mary Annings story from her perspective story.

LS2 were tasked with making a DLO , Slides , or a recording  to understand and capture the story behind Mary Anning,  a pioneering fossil hunter and paleontologist during the early 18th cenutry. And we also did this to find out the diffrent fossils she found out through out 1811 to 1847 where in 1847 she sadly passed away and all of her fossils that she found through out the years was hold up in a british muesm

omething I learnt was that she was the first  ever person to become a fossil hunter and the first person to find a dinosuar fossil.

Trace Fossils and Fossils

What are Fossils?

Fossils are like a trace of animals or plants from long ago, when they were alive. Palaeontology studies these traces and fossils of the dinosaurs, helping us learn what things from the past looked like and how they lived. What are Trace Fossils? Trace fossils are very different compared to dinosaur Fossils. They are not bones instead they are old ancient marks , signs , dinosaur or any other prehistoric footprints. Trace fossils arent very rare they are pretrty common.

50 Word summary

Paleontologists are scientists who study fossils and they preserve these remains of ancient plants and animals. They dig fossils from the ground, examine them, and figure out what life was like millions of years ago. Their work helps us understand Earth’s history and how living things have changed over time.
